Clogged Toilet? Sanitary Unclogging Techniques
Submitted by Maria on Thu, 12/24/2009 - 02:42A clogged toilet is not just inconvenient, it can be extremely unsanitary. Here are a few simple ways to deal with a clogged toilet in the cleanest way possible.
Don’t Flush Again
If the toilet doesn’t flush the first time, don’t try to flush it again. This will pump more water from the tank into the bowl, causing the water level to increase and overflow. The toilet bowl will usually start to drain on its own, even though it will be very slow.

Attaching an Awning Frame
Submitted by Maria on Thu, 12/17/2009 - 03:32Awning frames can be free standing or obtain their support from another structure. Even a free standing awning can be attached to a building, if required.
Ready Fitted Positions
If an awning is being fitted to a position designed for it, the position should already have the necessary fittings in place. It might be wise to check the security of the fittings before attaching the awning frame.
An Introduction to Awnings
Submitted by Maria on Thu, 12/17/2009 - 03:31Awnings can be used not only to give a little extra aesthetic appeal to the outside of a home or mobile home, but also as a way to avoid even the harshest of the elements. By providing shade, an awning can protect from excessive heat, and it can also hold off the rain and give some protection from the wind. Awnings also give a surprising level of protection from the heat of the sun indoors. Facing in the right direction, your awning could lower solar heat gain by around 70 percent.

Beach House Window Treatments
Submitted by Maria on Thu, 12/17/2009 - 03:28Q: I need suggestions as to how to do window coverings on two sliding doors and two windows in the living area of a house close to the ocean. The living area is an open concept which includes a dining area and kitchen, with a lot of exposed wood. The area around the house is very private, so shielding the room for privacy is not a great concern.
What do you recommend?
A: The first thing I recommend is that you throw a house party for the Designer Monthly staff, say for the month of July.
